Lack of skating during NHL pause is a big concern if season resumes | Newsday

The weather is cold, it gets dark at 4:00 PM, there’s a global pandemic, and the worst part is the NHL season might not happen, and I’m not quite sure what I am going to do with myself.

The NHL still hopes to drop the puck in early January, which is a month away. A league source said this morning the target date hasn't shifted and that talks with the NHLPA continue. But my own two cents, given the Covid numbers, is that season may be further delayed. We'll see.

Listen, it’s one thing to not be able to go see my favorite team play, but we will be crossing a line of no return if there is no NHL hockey on my TV soon.

It just keeps going through my head: what the hell am I going to do with my time without hockey? Watch the NBA? NEVER. Read a book? Okay, that’s fine. Twiddle my thumbs? Most likely.

So here I am on December 2nd, 2020, begging the NHL and NHLPA to FIGURE IT OUT and allow the great hockey fans around the world to watch the greatest game on earth. PLEASE and THANK YOU.
