The Main Event: A Belt is on the line

In the face of adversity, the UFC has found a championship bout for this PPV. It’s easy to get excited about tonight’s card, but let’s not forget UFC fans that we lost the opportunity to watch a trio of title bouts that were all supposed to be on this card. Amanda Nunes, Kamaru Usman, and Petr Yan were supposed to defend their titles this month. Fortunately, we are still getting a good one as flyweight champion, Deiveson Figueiredo, who has looked fantastic as of late, will defend his title against Brandon Moreno. Figueiredo and Moreno are making history tonight, by having the fastest turnaround ever for a UFC titleholder and a challenger. Both were victorious three weeks ago and
they now have a chance to end the year with gold around their waist.

The Co-Main Event: The Return of Tony Ferguson

You know what makes this night even better? Tony Fergerson is back in the octagon! The co-main event between Tony Ferguson and Charles Oliveira could easily be the main event of any card. It’s going to be an explosive 3 rounds. Ferguson is coming off his first loss after his amazing 12-fight win streak. It was recently snapped by former interim lightweight champion
Justin Gaethje. I’m interested to see how Tony is. He got battered last fight. He’s almost 37 now and he’s definitely been through some wars.

For Oliveira, it’s a great opportunity to finally get a W over the top-5 opponent. He has been finishing opponents at an alarming rate recently. So much so that the top contenders in his division have thought twice about giving him his shot. It doesn’t surprise me that Ferguson is giving Oliveira the biggest opportunity of his career thus far. Tony needs to bounce back big time and if he doesn’t win this fight it could be time to hang up the gloves.

Other Main Card Fights

In another main card action, we have Mackenzie Dern, who I’m predicting is going to be the next star of Women’s MMA, faces off with Virna Jandiroba.

Kevin Holland hopes to go 5-0 this year as he takes on middleweight contender Ronaldo “Jacare” Souza. Yes, Holland is 4-0 in 2020. WILD!

Another interesting fight is Junior dos Santos looks to hand the fantastic prospect, Ciryl Gane his first loss. The prelim fights look great as well. I am excited for a great night of fights.
